Where is Northolme?

Northolme is located at ‘The Bay Filey Leisure Complex’, which is on the North Yorkshire coast. Our full address is –

Can I park my car at Northolme?

There is a dedicated parking space immediately to the front of Northolme as well as a shared car park to the rear if you have more than one car. There is also another car park not far from the house at the reception building should you need more room.

What facilities are at ‘The Bay’?

The Bay has an on site pub, pizza restaurant, gym and swimming pool.

There is also private access to the beach as well as beautiful lakes for fishing and walking.

Are there shops nearby?

There is a small pharmacy on site at The Bay.

Approximately half a mile north of The Bay, just off the A165, is a ‘Jet’ petrol station. This also has a small convenience store on site.

The nearest superstore is a ‘Tesco’ based just down the road in Filey. This store is just over two and a half miles from The Bay.

Is there somewhere to eat nearby?

The Bay has a large on-site pub & restaurant, The John Paul Jones, as well as an Italian restaurant offering both table service and takeaway meals. You can view information about all of the facilities at The Bay on our dedicated page.

There are also many restaurants, pubs and takeaways in the surrounding area, including several in the local town of Filey.

Is the house wheelchair accessible?

The front entrance and ground floor of the house is completely step-free, there is also a bedroom on the ground floor as well as a W.C with wash basin and lavatory.

All of the doors on the ground floor of the house have been fitted with wheelchair users in mind and are one meter wide, in fitting with EU regulations on disabled access.

Is the house child friendly?

Northolme is ideal for family use. As well as a high chair and fold-away cot for guests to use, there is also a small selection of DVD’s suitable for children and some games & books for any rainy days.

Please note, if you wish to use the fold-away cot then you will need to bring your own linen.

Can I bring my dog?

Well behaved dogs are welcome to stay at Northolme.

The Bay is also fantastic for dogs, there is a large wild meadow set in the grounds that provide plenty of space for your dog to exercise. The John Paul Jones also welcomes friendly dogs.

Please note that there is an additional cleaning charge of £35 for your dog to stay with you at Northolme.

What do I need to bring with me?

We provide linen for beds as well as towels for all guests. These will be changed weekly if your stay is for more than 7 days. If you wish to use the fold-away cot then you will need to provide your own linen.

Northolme is a self catering holiday cottage, so you will need to provide your own food & drink, however there will be a welcome pack on your arrival that will include tea, coffee, sugar and milk.

How much does it cost to stay at Northolme?

The cost varies based on how many nights you wish to stay and what time of the year you are booking for.

How do I make a booking?

To book your stay at Northolme, first check our availablity calendar and price list, then fill out a booking form. We will then contact you via email to within 48 hours to confirm your booking and request payment.

Is smoking allowed at Northolme?

No, smoking is not permitted at this property, however smoking is allowed outdoors in public areas of The Bay.

Does Northolme offer free Wi-Fi?

Yes, there is a free Wi-Fi network available at Northolme. The login details for your wireless devices will be sent via email before your arrival and are also shown in the information pack at the house.

There is also free Wi-Fi available at the on-site pub & restaurant; The John Paul Jones. Guests of Northolme are welcome to use their laptops, tablets, and mobile devices to access the internet via The John Paul Jones’ Wi-Fi network.

What are the arrival & departure times?

You may arrive at Northolme any time after 3pm on the first day of your booking.

We ask that you depart the property before 10am on the final day of your stay.
